Two years ago we move from the large city of Tacoma to the small town of Rainier. All of my art supplies were packed away and quite inaccessible and I needed to do some drawing (an obsession of mine). So , I went to a little shop in Lacey (Rainier doesn't even have a grocery store!), called Art n' Soul, where I met a new friend named Dianne Johnson. She was talking about her new obsession, Zentangling. That got me intrigued, as I had been doodling (or tangling?) on every scrap of paper I could find ever since I was little (much the the dismay of all my teachers). I bought the book Totally Tangled, micron pens, and some paper. Wow! that gave me permission to do the drawings I always did, but on a much larger scale! Now, 2 years, 3 sketch books, and about 100 pens later, I am going to start sharing my drawings with others so they can maybe find the same pleasure in 'doodling' as I do.
On the 23rd of June, when Art n' Soul had their 10th BD party, they decided to implement a program honoring their resident artists. They honored me! I got to be their 1st artist to be so honored, and my things have been on display for the month of July. I can't wait to see who's next! They have so much talent in both the customers who come in and share their artwork, and their wonderful employees. Thank you Art n' Soul!
Below you will find a few of my doodles. I will share more as I learn how to download the pics without crashing the computer(another thing I'm good at, crashing the PC. )

The egg with the bird and the text are stamps, the rest was me.

Sun

Sharpee pens used over watercolor. Next time I will use the pens first. the watercolors kept clogging up the pen head.

zentangle/zendoodle

this is a watercoler I did a few years ago. I didn't like it, so I doodled on it last week. Still didn't like it till I put the leaves in. Now I like it.
